$12,000 contributed to Cops for Cancer - Tour de North

When I first started in the role of Tour de North Coordinator in 2009, I was extremely impressed with the energy that the Integris Credit Union representative brought to the Cops Planning Committee. After having completed my first Tour, I was amazed to see that the energy that I saw in the Integris rep on the Committee was mirrored across the Prince George to Prince Rupert route in every employee of the Northline Credit Union group - obviously a common trait. I have been working with Northern Credit Unions on the Tour de North project over the past three years and I am very appreciative of the staff's enthusiasm on a community level when it comes to leadership for Welcome Events and fundraisers in the months leading up to the September Tour. We know that communities are inspired by the Tour Riders in their hometown; and the Credit Unions are the first to step up to the plate in that support.

Just recently (August 29), the Integris Credit Union in Fort St James led a fundraising Dinner/Silent Auction/Mustache Shave event at the local watering hole. It was an amazing community event, a full house and mustaches came off, where they hadn't come off (in some cases) for 32 years! All in all, the evening raised over $6000! Congratulations Fort St James!
